Greetings from Room 116!
Well, spring has definitely sprung; and we have a very busy schedule from here on out. Below is a quick recap of our work this past week:
ELA: We started our literature study of the fantasy genre and began publishing our biography reports and opinion pieces. We also learned the double consonant-y spelling pattern and practiced new cursive letters.
Math: We learned how to create and interpret a variety of graphs, including line plots, pictographs, and bar graphs.
Science: We began our exploration of simple machines.
SS: We discussed how the colonists used simple machines in their homes and at work.
Other: We started a new brochure project in Computers and practiced various math skills during Study Island. We also attended a thoughtful presentation called Living with Differences.
Next Thursday, May 3, we will visit the Josiah Dennis Manse Museum, a historic colonial home (circa 1736).
Best wishes for a relaxing weekend!
Sincerely,
Ms. Feeney
