Positively Productive!

October 14, 2016

Greetings from Room 116!

Despite the short week, we have accomplished a great deal. Following is a brief recap:

ELA: We studied the oo and ew pattern in Spelling and reviewed the difference between common and proper nouns in Grammar. In addition, we learned about the Word Wizard/Clarifier job during reading groups. Please remember that students should be reading 20-30 minutes on a nightly basis to enhance reading fluency and comprehension.

Math: We continued using the commutative property and the distributive property to solve multi-step problems. We also took our End-of-Module 1 Assessment. Students should include fact practice in their nightly homework routine to help build automaticity.

Science/SS: We continued our exploration of Wampanoag life, creating Wampanoag personas for our class clan.

Other: We joined Google Classroom and learned about Internet Safety during Technology and discovered the power of focused breathing in Calmer Choice.

Please complete the attached conference form if you have not already done so. Times have been updated to indicate those slots that are still available.

Best wishes to all for a wonderful weekend!!

Sincerely,

Ms. Feeney
