April 28, 2017

Greetings from Room 116!

This week students successfully completed their ELA MCAS. I am so proud of the great effort put forth by all. Math MCAS testing will be held on May 16th and 17th. Thank you in advance for ensuring that students are well rested on these important test days.

In addition to MCAS, we worked on the following items throughout the week:

ELA/Computers: We conducted research on different types of extreme weather phenomenon and took notes.

Math: We started our Geometry unit with a look at attributes of 2-dimensional shapes.

Science/SS: We launched our study of the water cycle and its impact on weather around the world. We also picked our colonial names and created our colonial figures.

Following is a partial schedule of important upcoming events:

  • Wednesday, 5/24 – Josiah Dennis Manse Trip
  • Monday, 6/5 – Lighthouse Field Trip
  • Thursday, 6/8 – Jericho House (TBD)
  • Friday, 6/9 –Field Day
