March Already?

March 2, 2018

Greetings from Room 116!

Is it really March already? This year is truly flying by!! Thank you for helping to ensure that students came back to school ready to learn. We had a very productive week. Here are some highlights:

ELA: We practiced r-controlled vowels in Spelling and possessive pronouns in Grammar. In addition, we started a new genre study regarding historical fiction in our guided reading groups. We also published our revised kindness stories, as well as journal entries from Wally’s perspective.

Math: We examined fractions on a number line and discussed how to compare fractions with various numerators and denominators.

Science/SS: We participated in a lab to identify hereditary adaptations that help plants and animals survive in different environments. We also renewed our study of life in the New World.

Other: We continued to explore TestNav to practice using online assessment tools.

We ended the week with Crazy Hat Day and a school-wide Drop Everything and Read session. Best wishes to all for a safe and secure weekend I look forward to meeting with everyone next week!

Most Sincerely,

Ms. Feeney
