Great Job!

April 6, 2018

Greetings from Room 116!

We are officially done with our ELA MCAS!!  Students worked very hard and put forth great effort during this first round of state testing. I was very proud of their focus and perseverance. The Math MCAS will be administered after April vacation on May 8th and 9th.

Here is a short summary of the rest of our week:

ELA: We wrote sequels to Cynthia Rylant’s When the Relatives Came.

Math: We finished Module 6 on Data and took our End-of-Module assessment. Next week we will begin to explore the concepts of Geometry and Perimeter.

Science/SS: We continued our Extreme Weather research projects. We also built and tested various parachute designs, using a variety of materials, to see which ones could effectively handle heavier loads. In addition, we created colonial personas and began construction of our replica village.

Other: We wrote articles and took photos for the first edition of our online newspaper The 116 Times.

Best wishes to all for a pleasant weekend!!

Most Sincerely,
Ms. Feeney
