Happy June!

June 1, 2012

Greetings from Room 116!

Wow!! Is it really June already? How time flies! We’re in the home stretch
now, and it will be a race to the finish with tons of fun and entertaining
activities from here on out. This week, we kept busy with the following:

ELA: We reviewed plural endings in spelling, and finished reading and
responding to our fantasy books. We also worked on several writing pieces.

Math: We expanded our understanding of geometry/measurement concepts.
Science: We conducted experiments with simple machines and worked on
informational posters to showcase our learning.

SS: We published historical fiction letters about colonial life incorporating
information we have gained throughout the year.

Other: Congratulations to our Music Memory team for earning a blue ribbon
at the BHS competition this week. We had fun supporting our classmates
and listening to the Cape Cod Symphony Orchestra at this event.

Next Friday, June 8, we will walk over to the Jericho House for another
glimpse back into colonial life. On Monday, June 11, we will host an author
visit from Ruth Sanderson, and on Tuesday, June 12, we will enjoy our Field
Day. The Grade 3 Celebration will be held on Friday, June 15, at 10:00,
followed by the Annual EHB Family picnic at noon. Have a restful weekend!!

Sincerely,
Ms. Feeney
