Goodbye, March!!!

March 29, 2018

Greetings from Room 116!

It may not be going out like a lamb, but March is already coming to an end. We are officially in the final trimester of third grade. The year is just flying by!

Below are a few of the highlights from our past two weeks:

ELA: We studied more homophones in Spelling and focused on verbs in Grammar. We continued to read our historical fiction books, while also practicing for the ELA MCAS.

Math: We learned how to interpret and create different types of graphs, including bar graphs, pictographs, and line plots. We also practiced traditional algorithms to add and subtract multi-digit numbers.

Science/SS: We began our unit on Climate and Extreme Weather. We also learned more about the early Colonial Period in our nation’s history.

Other: We continued to build our test-taking skills on Study Island in preparation for the MCAS which is scheduled for April 3rd and 5th. We also enjoyed a fabulous presentation by David A. Kelly, author of our community book The Fenway Foul Up.

Best wishes to all for a very blessed Easter!!

Most Sincerely,
Ms. Feeney
