In Like a Lion

March 4, 2016

Greetings from Room 116!

March already????!!!!! The time is truly flying by. Here are some highlights from our whirlwind week:

ELA: In Spelling, we studied words with double consonants and short vowels, while in Grammar we worked on verb tenses. We continued our historical fiction stories, examining how characters react to their environment.

Math: We explored fractions on a number line.

Science/SS: We began outlining setting, problem, and solution as a prewriting strategy for our animal stories. We continued our 2-column notes on Pilgrim life.

Other: In Computers, we had fun with different activities on the Seussville website. We also created submissions for the EHBi Safe Body poster contest and participated in a school-wide viewing of Dr. Seuss’ s The Sneetches.

Best wishes to all for a peaceful weekend. I look forward to seeing you all next week!

Sincerely,

Ms. Feeney

P.S. Please remember that students should always practice math facts and read self-selected text for 30 minutes as part of their nightly homework.
